Our summer program will undoubtedly bring fun and learning to Quality Time. In addition to all of our scheduled events, the summer fun continues with water days, movie days, ice cream socials, pizza parties, cooking projects, arts and crafts and much more. We look forward to a memorable, fun-filled summer!
Quality Time will explore the wonders of the bay and ocean when the Virginia Aquarium comes to visit! During the Tiny Tots program, specially geared towards toddlers, the little ones will explore the life of the horseshoe crab through stories, songs, games, artifacts, interactive activities and live animals. Preschoolers will learn all about animal movement as they hop, crawl, and wiggle their way through the interactive Mini Movers program. They will enjoy the book “Do Goldfish Gallop?” along with songs, games and live animals. Lastly, Quality Time’s School Age children will come face to face with sea stars, spider crabs and a diamond back terrapin as they get a hands-on lesson in Chesapeake Bay ecology.
Well known in all of Hampton Roads, Ryan “the Balloon Guy” is going to show the children his incredible balloon creations. From animals and dinosaurs to Mario and Luigi, Ryan can create anything your child’s heart desires!
Customized for each age group, Rob the Happy Magician is coming with his rabbit and hat full of tricks! As an award-winning magician, his talent and unforgettable show will amaze children of all ages.
During the End of the Year Celebration, Julie will bring a ton of fun to the event with her imaginative face painting and glitter tattoos. From Spider Man and princesses to peacocks and butterflies, the artist will make your child’s dreams come true!
With hand-on learning and a focus on science, Mad Science instructors are coming to Quality Time with a “Color Lab” for Preschoolers and an interactive workshop on “Moving Motion” for the School Age children.
Mad Science will welcome the exciting world of color! Preschoolers will roll up their sleeves and get into color mixing with liquids, gels, and paints, while learning about the colors of the rainbow. They will color their world beautiful with a sun catcher that captures the light!
In one “moving” hour, school age children will catapult into Newton’s three laws of motion. They will yank a cloth from under dishes, send crash dummies flying and launch mini-rockets across the room! Along with these fun activities, they will continue their learning by dropping plastic eggs of different weights to see which will hit the ground first. The Moving Motion workshop will be an educational blast!
The petting zoo is coming to Quality Time! The Teeny Tiny Farm is bringing a miniature llama, donkey, cow, pig, horse, goat, sheep, bunnies and chickens! This will be an event no child will want to miss!
Potts N’ Paints is keeping “the Art’s Alive!” Bringing the studio to Quality Time, Potts N’ Paints will inspire the children’s creativity and artistic abilities.
To celebrate the end of the summer program, 3 A’s Inflatables is bringing a bounce house, bounce slide, snow cone machine and DJ. Along with all this excitement, Julie will be painting “Funny Faces” on all of the children. Let the celebration begin!
With energetic, well- trained instructors, Stretch-n-Grow makes exercise fun with interactive fitness and entertainment! The instructors will create fun exercise experiences with obstacle courses, parachute’s, bean bags, hula hoops, musical instruments, balance beams, prizes and much more. Each week at the Suffolk location and every other week at the Smithfield location, Stretch-n-Grow will make exercise unique and full of fun.
Every other week, the children at the Smithfield location will enjoy indoor skating at the skating rink! In close proximity, the Smithfield Skating Rink will provide great exercise and fun for the children.
